Dragon Park is state-of-the-art

When it was opened in 2013, Dragon Park was described by many as a state-of-the-art, purpose-built, training facility.

As well as using the newest technology inside and outside the eco-friendly building, the suite of changing areas that includes a physio room and four ice baths. two grass outdoor pitches and 3G pitch are of international standard.

When Pep Guardiola brought his star-studded Manchester City team to the facility in September 2016, he admitted to being impressed with what was on offer.

Other superstars of the game who have visited and been impressed, include Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira, Marcel Desailly, Fedddie Ljungberg, Mikel Arteta and Peter Crouch.

Arteta said: “The facilities were excellent and the staff at both places were very helpful and friendly and it was beneficial to spend some time as a squad in a different environment.”

The centre is within close proximity to a number of hotels that range from 5* luxury to more affordable accommodation.

Dragon Park will provide world-class facilities for all national teams in Wales and a host of clubs and individual players.

Based in Newport, South Wales is easily accessible and is the new home for Wales’ eight international teams.
